One thing I’ve always been fascinated with has been human theory ranging from psychological to economic theories. Recently I have gotten into a mental wormhole learning about different futurist theories on mankind , technology and harmonious designed societies of the future.

Its quite amazing the growth our generation has witness from GEO City chatrooms to live Ustream channels. Don’t you ever find yourself asking that age ol’ question, “Damn what can possibly be next?”

Below I wanted to share three different modern futurist documentaries that are all available on Netflix Instant Watch. (or Free on the internet, which I’m sure isn’t okay…)

Transcendent Man:  83 minutes

Inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil is the subject of this documentary that follows him on a world speaking tour in which he expounds on his ideas about the merging of man and machine, which he predicts will occur in the not-so-distant future. The visionary who invented the first text-to-speech synthesizer and much more raises eyebrows here with his wildly optimistic views of a technology-enhanced future. (Trailer Below)

We live in Public: 88 minutes

Ondi Timoner’s documentary chronicles a decade in the life of Internet pioneer Josh Harris, who instigated an “artificial society” experiment in which more than 100 artists lived under 24-hour surveillance in an underground New York City compound. (Trailer Below)

Future By Design: 88 minutes

Oscar-nominated filmmaker William Gazecki directs this thought-provoking documentary chronicling the life and work of self-taught futurist Jacque Fresco, a Florida-based engineer, designer and inventor who’s built his life around forward thinking. Moving away from present-day concepts of commercialism and militarism, Fresco promotes an array of fresh, sustainable alternatives that are viable — and far from fantastical. (Trailer Below)
